*sigh*

More rumors being taken as confirmation by worried fanboys. The only fact is that Konami and Kojima have said it's a Playstation 3 exclusive title. Could this change? Sure. In this era of consoles, exclusivity should be marked with an * because when certain companies are ready, willing and able to write huge checks, anything can happen.

Combine this with the relatively small installed base of the PS3 (compared to other consoles), and the high costs associated with game development, and you have a situation where it is not possible for developers to recoup development costs, let alone make profit. There isn't much money to be made in exclusivity right now, so making a game multiplatform is increasingly possible. Unless, of course, Sony is willing to aid Konami financially, which Sony has been unwilling to do thus far.

Sony has to start locking down exclusive games because if you can get the best PS3 games elsewhere, why own the more expensive PS3? Sony needs to start making some moves before Microsoft opens up that famous check book of their's, because they have, and they will again.

Still, at present time, MGS4 is a Playstation 3 exclusive, and until Konami confirms otherwise, take what you read with a grain of salt.

You may be right and I hopeit gets portedtoo! This way I can point and laugh at the 360 for once about getting a horrible looking, downgraded, choppy port. PS3 is the way to go and I have no clue why anyone post stupid **** like this in the PS3 forums!

You know what else, Bioshock is coming out this holiday for PS3. I got sources, I can't tell you who they are though, so don't doubt me! It's true, you gullible people who accepteverything you read or hear!

Don't get mad at me I'm a PS3 supporter. You may want to direct your concerns toward Sony. Pretending like they won't let it happen and bashing the messenger won't change a thing. I'm in this PS3 thing for 1100.00 big and beginning to feel a little foolish.:(

"nyc05" is exactly right. It does not matter how big of a fanboy we are; this is all about $$$$$$. If Sony does not come to the table with hard cash or M$ does provide cash incentive, then this game is going to be on the XBOX360. Believe me when I tell you that no one will care the slightest bit about what we think about Sony or our beloved PS3.

I hope you are all correct. If not, I will expect the same passion expressed here to be directed at Sony because a little bit of $$$ on thier part is what would be needed to keep this game as a PS3 exclusive. I follow the industry quite well and their would be absolutely no excuse for allowing this game to go multi-platform.

This is one of the last straws. Indications of many gaming people who are in the know say that MGS4 will make its way to the XBOX360. I was really looking forward to this game as a PS3 exclusive. Given the abysmal sales of the PS3 over the last year this game was a major component to help breath a little life back into our system. Check out the article below. If this article is true then I do not care how big of a fanboy we are the PS3 is DOOOOOMED!!! What do you think?

MGS4 to be released on 360:x

I have been unable to enjoy the PS3 because there really are very very few good games. I am a gamer who enjoys good games and right now the PS3 is doing terrible. It has been one year so there really is no excuse. The latest sales numbers noted in the link below would suggest that I am not the only one who feels this way. PS3 Sales-OUCH!!!!! :(

This is good news :). Now Sony needs to drop another hundred from the price during the holiday season and start phasing out the PS2 ASAP. There is some hope left but the PS2 must go down soon to make the PS3 a viable Next-Gen leader.

Fellow PS3 owners I think that in our quest to defend our system we want to pretend that system sales numbers are not a big deal at this time. However, I follow the industry closely and can tell you that installed base is the main factor in game production. Developers do not have the same fanatical approach to Sony as some of the posters on this board. The bottom line is a developer is in this business to make money. They will produce the games for the system with the greatest installed base regardless if it is made by Sony, Microsoft, Nintendo, or Taco Bell. These current sales numbers are a concern. Sony had better do something soon or they will find themselves going from first to worst just as Nintendo did in the 1990s. The PS3 will quickly become a box with a blu-ray player for discs that cost more than DVDs to be used on televisions that can't display the upgraded visual quality. It is beginning to feel a little bit like the 3DO. Now that system was a real winner!!!
