For single player missions it says the upgrade is locked, not talking about mp.

It's just one plane for all of those. It's the one you unlocked on the last mission for US campaign. I think its like General Motors Hellcat or something.

You unlock the Avenger with guided missile capability, sadly that is not what unlocks the upgrades for the others though.

Agreed mate, this is the best game i have played for ages, RTS and FPS insanely good. Fantastic graphics too : ]
