Since it only seems a bit daft rather than utterly absurd in this context, I'd love a moment where whatever big battle is going on is going poorly, and then a bunch of Drop Pods crash down and the Blood Ravens storm out. FOR THE EMPEROR!

I have to think the criticism of the humour in AoM would have been more useful if the reviewer had told us what he thought of the Saints Row games. I certainly enjoyed 3 and 4 though Gat Out of Hell jumped the shark hard at the big musical number IMHO. If the reviewer found those games to have the same issues as AoM It'd be handy to know it to establish a baseline.

This is one of those things I bring up whenever someone tells me that Conan or Red Sonja's armour is 'unrealistic'- try getting out of the way of dragonfire in full plate and then swimming through the Lost Temple of Drown'in-Darkh.

Yes, very nice Capcom, but you do know that a huge chunk of your (mainly former) customers want Arcade mode back, right? I mean, that message has filtered through by now, hasn't it?

The look of that gear kicks the hell out of her other equipment. It's bit odd that just before her solo movie IJ2 makes WW out to be such an unpleasant character- at least IJ1 featured the 'good' version as well, but in this one it's all Evil Amazon Queen.

There's a lot of idiocy in the criticism of this movie.

First off, if you think it 'dumbed down' the plot of the original anime, tell me what it was. Tell me what its central message was- without looking it up or going away and watching it again. The original GITS is a visual masterpiece and very atmospheric, but its at best vague storytelling and at worst downright obtuse. They even basically ignored its ending for GITS2 and Stand Alone Project.

Secondly, the Major's body is not meant to look Asian in the anime or manga. Her body looks nothing like the original Motoko Kusanagi, that's part of the point. The movie doesn't ignore the question of her identity, it tackles it head-on and the conclusion it comes to is simply the conclusion that the Major has drawn to keep going forward. It's not presented as some deep psychological truth, and there's every possibility she's going to change her mind about it.

If you like the original GITS, the vast majority of the things you remember, right down to individual shots, are in this movie. What's not there is the stuff 90% of people can't remember a week later and didn't understand even when they did.

Congratulations to Guerrilla- I was not a fan of the studio (never liked Killzone much) but they hit it out of the park with HZD.

Hopefully this will help make it clear to other developers that you don't have to shoe-horn pointless multiplayer into a single-player game to make it sell, just make it good- both creatively and technically. For that matter, you don't have to slavishly stick to established IPs or avoid a female protagonist either.

Just make a good game. Simple, but not easy.

Well, that looks like it works about as well as most other motion-controlled fighters, which is to say that it doesn't.

I must admit, the fact that Tetris seems such an utterly poor fit for a movie adaptation makes me very interested to see where the hell they're going with this. I mean, if they made a Last of Us movie, we'd know the story would basically be 'Grizzled white guy and photogenic pre-teen girl shoot/ run away from zombies and pet giraffes', but with this anything could happen.

Not that I'll necessarily go see it, or that it'll be any good, but I'm intrigued.

@maitkarro: Actually from what Boon is saying, it seems like you might well be 'forced' to use the armour. What we don't know is how dramatically it powers you up- there may well be challenges that are effectively impossible without it. (An extreme example would be something like Lost Swords, where if you don't have equipment with the right element you can't do armour breaks).

Ultimately it's their game, and they can do what they want with it. I'm sure some people will love it, based on some of the horrific creations I've seen in Tekken or Soulcalibur in the past, but for me, customisations for anything other than cosmetic reasons are a big turn-off in a fighter.
