Word of the Week #2-3 F-I

Just a brief note before I begin, I'm changing the rules (again...). From now on, I will probably do more than one Quote of the Week, but sometimes I might not. And another thing, none of the rules apply unless I want them to.

Words of the Week:

francophobia- A fear of France or French people.

gigantomachia- A war of giants, originally from Greek mythology in which the giants fought the Olympian gods.

helot- (In Sparta) A serf or slave owned by the state, and sold along with the land they were bound to.

in flagrante delicto (latin)- In the act of commmitting an offence, similar to the phrase caught red-handed

Quotes of the Week:

"Be who you are and say what you feel, because those who mind don't matter and those who matter don't mind." -Theodore Geisel

"There's very little advice in men's magazines, because men don't think there's a lot they don't know. Women do. Women want to learn. Men think, 'I know what I'm doing, just show me somebody naked'." -Jerry Seinfeld

Man of the Week:

Theodore Geisel- Better known as Doctor Seuss. Even though his books are for children, people of all ages still enjoy them, both for their amusing characters and quirky rhyming attitude. He wrote and illustrated 44 childrens books, three of which (The Cat in the Hat, The Grinch, and Horton Hears a Who) have been made into movies, and his best-selling book is Green Eggs and Ham. And to commemorate Dr. Seuss, the National Education Asscoiation (USA), celebrates March 2, Seuss' birthday, as Read Across America Day. If anyone wants to know, my personal favourite is Yertle the Turtle. What's yours?

Well that's it for this week, hopefully you enjoy it. I know I haven't been very active lately, I'll try to pick up my game, but it's difficult with school and everything. And one last thing, what do you guys think of my tagline? ("Keep grinnin'") Do you like it or think I should change it to something else? (I just don't want to do the whole- "majorflyswat, signing off" thing.)

So anyway, see you guys later, and keep grinnin'. :D
