I've recently been interested in how developers are translating the whole RTS scene over to the console, after trying the C&C demo, I didn't think it was possible. Before playing the demo of Halo Wars I thought I'd go back and see how other titles have dealt with the limited control system when it comes to making the transition from PC to console. That said I hit up End War and Civilization 4. Both I felt did some interesting things and succeeded where they put the effort in. Then I tried the Halo Wars demo, although I felt they had nailed what making an RTS work on a console, such as stripping down the base building and recourse management and focusing more on the combat itself (after all Halo has always been about the action in the past). After playing the few campaign levels I was left with no emotional attachment at all. Seemed very simple and not all that fun. I have however put this on my rental list so I can try out the multiplayer which you never know, may be its saving grace. However from what I hear, there are not that many people playing it anymore.
