Finally, on Thanksgiving Day, I was able to successfully clear the challenging final course in Super Mario 3D Land first with Luigi (18:09 PST) then within a hour with Mario (18:39 PST). The final course, S8-Crown took me some time to clear as I have to carefully maneuver over the very short platforms. Most cases, I lose a life because I miscalculate in my jumps between the platforms even when I use the Tanooki Suit. S8-Crown is a course that requires the Tanooki Suit and I do not think I would have cleared it without it because of the short platforms. After I first cleared the course, I am somewhat disappointed that I did not receive a message that I have completed everything in the game like in New Super Mario Bros. Wii.

When I finally cleared S8-Crown, I already earned five stars next to my profile, collected 304 Star Medals, have 444 lives, and lost a life 411 times. If I had know that I can earn sparkling stars earlier, I would have not used the Special Items before defeating Bowser the first time.

Since 3D Land is considered a 3D Mario platformer in the likes of the Galaxy games, it is the first time that I have a 100% in a 3D Mario game. I do have 100% completions for the New Super Mario Bros. games.
