and the mods.. where do you advise me to look for them?

I'm one who actually never played Fallout games before, and I'm tempted to buy both Fallout 3 and Fallout: Las Vegas in this Halloween Sale, but what I'm concerned about is I remember hearing a lot of talk back in the day when Fallout 3 came out about it having too many "Glitches" making the game practically unplayable.

If anybody knows if this is a common occurrence, or is there any fix to it so please tell me so that I purchase those highly rated games on Steam.
