Hello! Anyone here at RC? :o
martialbullet's forum posts
If I were Itagaki, right after the pic, I'd say, "Your game is still trash." Knowing his "persona", he probably would have :P
Also, I can't help but notice the guy in the back to the left of Harada wearing a mask. I want one!
Well not surprisingly, the majority of feedback from gamers all over have been negative. DMC fan or not, most agree that the new look and direction is awful. On the 2channel board (Japan), users have expressed their distaste for it and pointed out that even Westerners share the same feeling. It has yet to be shown what other changes have been made to the reboot, but at this point, maybe it should be back to the drawing board for Capcom and Ninja Theory.
Oh, and this was quite amusing :P

I have obtained Ninja Theory's email and will now post it here so you guys can show them the error of their ways - Info@ninjatheory.com
I have already done my part and sent a long winded rant. Hopefully with enough of those and some signature packed petitions we can get these guys to fix this crap.

It's going to be amusing if this game ends up selling better than previous DMC titles.
Even funnier still of the critical reception is good.
Unless there's a drastic change in the gameplay like Fallout 3, I don't see it selling that much better. The aesthetic changes that were made doesn't seem like something that could attract new fans. pretty much DMC, except not...errr.[QUOTE="martialbullet"]I'm also afraid they might not know what a jump button is :PEvilTaru
They don't, at least not in the Enslaved demo. That said, I don't think they know what are good controls either.
Both Heavenly Sword and Enslaved have no jump button -__- This does NOT look good. Also, Dante has ALWAYS looked stupid. He just looks stupid in a different way this time. I mean, he was always sort of emo, from his outfit to his silly white hair.DJ_LaeBut at least before, he wasn't taken that seriously. Dante was a silly archetype or sorts. He wasn't "emo" except in 2.
[QUOTE="DJ_Lae"]The new Dante is about as well done as the new Rad Spencer in Bionic Commando, dreads and all. You'd think Capcom would have learned their lesson with Bionic Commando and Dark Void and farming out their licenses to third party studios. Apparently not yet.Grammaton-Cleric
Bionic Commando was one of the best games of last year and judging by the critiques of some, GRIN understood the parameters of the franchise better than most.
But they didn't know dreadlocks makes for terrible character design on heroes. :lol:Confirmed by Ninja Theory, it's not a prequel. Ninja Theory creative director Tameem Antionades describes it as both a "reboot" and "reimagining" of the DMC series.
The likeliness of Dante no longer being a half demon and all of the insane crap just happening his drug-induced mind (a la American Psycho) seems to be edging closer to truth. That's just my theory though. But with so many saying he looks like a junkie and going under some psycho evaluation treatment, I'd put money on it. Not like I want to... this is awful.
Really? If anything, the music hasn't really changed and it still retains the urban/gothic environment. Though in character design, Dante looks more ridiculous with the white streak brunette hair and stupid looking coat. And it's hard to tell if Reuben Langdon reprises his role as Dante. But if so, the acting won't be that much different from previous games :PJudging by the trailer, this is the first time a Devil May Cry game hasn't repulsed me with its horrible art styIe and music. UpInFlames
Whoa! Laying off the peroxide. Could be promising, but I don't know Ninja Theory's track record. What else did they make besides Heavanly Sword? I wasn't that impressed with ewhat little of that game that I did play.Travo_basicI'm also afraid they might not know what a jump button is :P
At TGS, Capcom revealed [via Kotaku] a new Devil May Cry game simply titled "DMC" (for now). The game is being developed by Ninja Theory (Heavenly Sword) and features a much different looking Dante. Angry, smoking a cig, sickly looking, and brunette... this Dante is a reboot and reimagining as confirmed by creative director, Tameem Antionades.
The debut trailer shows Dante in a run down mental facility(?) looking very frail and sickly as he's repeatedly asked what his name is in a psycho evaluation treatment. Could this mean the new Dante is more grounded in reality where the monsters and supernatural stuff are just in his head? No more demonic bloodline of Sparda? NO! Say it ain't so!
Personally, I'm not fond of the Dante's new "junkie punk"* look. While I'm not missing the white haired stud Dante that much, this doesn't look any better. In a way, it's worse even though it still looks like someone from a DMC universe. There's just something repulsive about Dante smoking. I mean, does every "badass" have to friggin' smoke a cig? I would rather have it return to Ninja Turtles pizza. I suppose if Reuben Langdon is still on board, it's not a total loss. Bring back Southworth as Vergil... then maybe we've got something here. But if the direction really is a major change (and not just aesthetically), then fans will ready their flamethrowers. In a bit of a rant, may God help us all if he really is some druggie only imagining he's a super powered fighting demonic monsters.
*Something I made up. Basically, he looks like a punk-*** substance abuser.
Anyways, here are some screenshots of the new Dante
So Far, the majority of feedback from gamers have been negative. This sums it up quite nicely (press the image for a video of one's feedback!):
