If anything it probably is a port of the first game with some special features, i guess two years is enough time for it to not be an exclusive anymore.

yah they don't have to remake it at all, just make it hd compatible so the image isn't streched and jaggy.

I feel it will be a great game as long as they learned from the mistakes from ffxi. Which mainly were the ultra hardcore level grind, level cap quests, and pretty rough end game camping HNM for the best loot. Missions and class story quests were awesome though. I liked the zilart and cop missions and never got to finish the missions for the third expansion completely during my time playing that game. If they approach it more story driven like in the last online game then i'm sold on this game.

It will most likely be cross platform. But i think we've already seen the metal gear announcements, whatever else kojima has in production is probably another snatcher game which will be announced tommorow.

I have to say that final fantasy xi broke my mmo virginity and i played it for a good 3 years before moving on to WoW for obvious reasons. Now hopefully learned that to make this next title enjoyable for the masses they need to lessen the amount of mindless grinding of xp you need to do so that the average player doesn't lose hope after level 20. Also end game must be alot more accesible instead of it being 3 years of camping the same three 24 hour spawn monsters where only a few linkshells/guilds had a monopoly on them.

Looks like the game will be a continuation of the story or before the events of metal gear solid 4. Since Raiden looks like he has his cyborg body intact. I could possibly see a stealth action metal gear game with a lil ninja gaiden mixed in.
