I think you just need to sync again your controller with your console.
Hit the small button next to the play&charge connection on your pad, and the small button right to (or below) the memory unit ports on your console (turned on)
Have you tried?
EDIT: JEEZ! I was looking at an hour old version of the thread, didn't read all the answers ^^
Whatever they said.
Seriously... here's my opinion:
I bought my 360 back in Dec,2005 (launch date in europe) for 400 Euro. NOW, look at a game that xbox owners has been able to play since January, Lost Planet. I upgraded my computer in september last year, it cost me MORE than 600Euro purchasing only Proccessor, Motherboard, GFX Card, and RAM (I kept HDDs, Burners, PSU, Case and screen, worth 400+ Euro)
Well, right NOW, i can play Lost planet PC at 1280x800 (16:10) with Medium and low details, no FSAA @ 39 Frames Per second MAX, with some laggy controls
Think about it, what would be the price of a computer able to handle Gears of War for PC, Rainbow Six: Vegas, Lost planet, and all the upcoming games for windows (360 ports and PC Exclusivities) ? And... will it be able to run games releasing next year?
smoothly?
I wouldn't change my computer for a console neither, but if you ask me: "For games, should I buy a console, or upgrade my PC?" PLEASE! Buy a console.. now... NOW! QUICK! :P
[QUOTE="Quadster"]TBH, i don't really care as long as i get some MGS Action on my 360, even if its only the BW Compatible update i've been longing for on Metal Gear Solid 2 Substance, which might i add....i'm glad M$ have given out another update, i only now HAVE 7 games to become compatible with my 360, so Keep it up M$!!BIGJosher
Metal Gear Solid has never come out on the xbox, so I don't know why youwant it to be backwards compatible.
Excuse me, the what?

MGS2: Subestance DID COME OUT on the original Xbox. In fact there's been other Metal gears launching on other platforms, including PC, and Gamecube. I'm not saying MGS4 will be released on 360, just clearing a wrong statement.
