Acceptable in Super Smash?

Strange, isn't it. If you want respect while playing, you gotta be careful of what you do. If you hit someone who is taunting, it considered unacceptable. Be cheap, unacceptable(that one I can understand). But where is the line drawn? In a 4 person fight, I might get hit up to 100% or so, and I don't want to give up the controler. So what do I do? Stay out of the fight, and wait for the others to eliminate each other. Seems fine to me, but others start whining. "He can't do that, he's gotta stay in the fight!" Why? If they wanted me dead, they would've come after me. Of course, teaming up is perfectly fine, which angers me to no end. "Hey, he's still alive, lets kill him." I guess it might be alright once, but if you continually do it, then its annoyingly cheap. If I wanted teams, I would've played teams. And edgegaurding(hanging on to the edge, so that enemies off the platforms can't grab on) is rediculous. But most of what I've said applies to other games, too. I get ousted from my controller in Halo because I've won every game, using sniper rifles and vehicles. If they don't want me to use vehicles, turn them off. The unwritten rules of gaming seem to be everywhere, and if you don't follow them, then prepare to give up the controller.
