Sophisticated Antiques

From waaaay back Dark Ages, when the NES held exclusive dominance over the land. A time when this was the ONLY console lustily sought after- with no rivals yet. {No argues- I was there}. Think about the early electronics race between AppleMac, the C64, and whatever we use now. -A similar thing existed with the NES and well, whatever we use now. -But NES was still the market. So there won't be Sony /Amiga etc. here. It's not because I'm some console's fanboy.

The reason for this stack; To show you many early video games weren't just about button mashing with Mario Brothers and Donkey Kong. This selection is where many gamers explored our "inner nerd". I Got My Geek On through endless hours of these games. A nirvana for the more intellectual gamer.- BUT - back then, admission to playing a game like this usually got you bad kharma with your video game pals! Yet our shadowy group were actual proof to grownups around us, that video games weren't only "made to rot your brains".

So finally, history can let us Nerd/Geek-Gamers come out into the open......

Although this was the 1980's, with this collection there aren't 'graphics' as stereotypically known from the 80's. There's mostly text, dropdown menus and static pictures, but not much animation. For a graphics fan or action devotee- this one's NOT for you. These are closer to a chess game/puzzle, and most are history sims. But Wow. The sheer amount of intricately involved details and thinking strategy provided, gave more sedentary and intellectual gamers something to chew on for a long time, anyway.

Antiques, yet very sophisticated -for their place in history.
