I was writing a comment for the movie "The Abyss", which I watched a few hours ago, when I had to stop because I didn't want to miss Jay Leno filling in for Roger Ebert's chair in the "Ebert & Roeper" show. I had great expectations for Jay Leno. I've heard about his capacities and I was curious to see if he could do the job adequately. Let me tell you that when I began to watch the show, I couldn't stop myself from watching the screen. Leno's opinions were very sharp and lucid and the great talk-show host played his role like if he had done that all his life. He really looked like a professional critic. He had some great chemistry with Richard Roeper and their already famed "Shadowboxer" disagreement will stay remembered by all show's watchers. For sure I want Roger Ebert to be back, but having some guests like Leno is very pleasant. My expectations for Leno are fulfilled, it's Kevin Smith's time next week...
