I just can't believe it. It was almost unthinkable that a plane still could hit a building in Manhattan, but it happened. Just by the plane's size, the building it hit and the weather, it was clear that it was an accident and not a terrorist attack. The moment that really shocked me is when I learned that the plane's pilot was none other than New York Yankees pitcher Cory Lidle. It could have been any other player and it would still have been shocking, but the fact that it was Lidle adds something special to the tragedy. That's because Lidle was one of the players in my team on my baseball pool. I now face that situation: one of my players is dead in a plane crash. I just can't figure it. It's still crazy in my mind. This fact shows that nobody can escape to their destiny. Neither the baseball players. Lidle had a big salary, he played with the most famous baseball team in history and he was one of the great pitchers of the major league. And still he got killed in that plane crash...
