Roeper & Smith on August 13th

Last week, on August 6th, Jay Leno replaced Roger Ebert for the ''Ebert & Roeper'' show and he promptly deserved a thumbs-up, proving his skills, not only as a show host, but as a film critic. He was fairly, fairly good.

Yesterday, on August 13th, Ebert's seat was taken by Kevin Smith, who directed movies like ''Jay & Silent Bob'', ''Clerks'' and ''Jersey Girl''. Because he was a guest host (and we don't invite anybody at this show), my expectations were high, once again.

Well, let me tell you that Smith disappointed me somehow. He wasn't as interesting as Leno, who was there the week before. His general presentation could have been more groomed.

I don't know who will be there next Sunday, but I hope that this guest will be more like Leno than Smith.
