So, I have to admit, despite the multitude of leaks before E3, I was still pleasantly surprised by numerous announcements, both for good and ill.
One of the first surprises felt like "ITS ABOUT TIME!" Alan Wake. I had a strong feeling it was coming, but hey, with this game, you never could tell. Small bits of info were creeping out but you had to really pay attention to notice them. The other surprising game was Golden Sun on the DS. That one threw me for a curve. I've been waiting ages and ages, and if Im being honest, that game being released was mostly dream. As excited as I am to see my favorite GBA series return, Im really nervous. DS games in 3D usually look awful and thats how theyre doing it. Considering it has taken this long, hopefully they know what theyre doing.
The other surprise was the lack of HL2: Episode 3, replaced by Left 4 Dead 2. Most people would tend to agree with me onthis one. Honestly, do we really need a new L4D so close after the last one? New dlc was just released not even a month or so ago. Consider this: the three episodes were episodic content, meant to be released in short intervals, the final being out by Dec 2007. Its been two years since the second in Dec 2007. Valve sucks with episodic content. Rather than release a new L4D we should have had this. Heck, we should have had some update to anything else, like Portal or Team Fortress but not L4D, only one year (to the exact day) after its original release. Way to blow E3 Valve.
So yeah, E3 has definently been good so far
