but I can't remember girls playing Atari even remotely as much as they play DS now. Atari sucked at that demography too, Nintendo was the one to fix it with DS.
I remember a long, long time ago, I used to play River Raid with my mom. (I think we took turn, but not sure) I do play Wii Sports today as a senior, but my mom doesn't; even wiimote and Wiisports gameplay are too complicated compared to Atari's joystick and River Raid.
and a new peripheral from last generation, that is wiimote (and yes it is from two generation ago, since it seems you believe Wii a generation behind the the current gen), lead to the most profitable console ever (Wii) and the best selling accessory ever (Kinect). and let me tell you, from 2002 to 2006 I played Warcraft 3 several hours a day, and from 2006 to 2008 I played DOTA several hours a day, and since then I am an only wii owner and I think I am way more hardcore gamer than you, and believe your claim that Wii compared to HD hasn't done anything substantial for gamers, is laughable
Coin-OpEd, or how I tried to make Nintendo look DOOOMMMMMED! (and an idiotic hazard to gamers.) this article, like the last one which bashed 3DS is full of wrong assumptions, like the assuming that every gamer out there thinks like you, and it seems it doesn't cross your mind that there are dedicated gamers who think HD is not necessary to make great games.
and as I said, I wouldn't have mined if this article was fair, buying a console in its launch windows is something which isn't usually recommended, but my question is why didn't you post one when Microsoft launched Kinect? it sold gazilions as well, and I am sure its game reviews meds or mids are not better than 3DS.
and I forgot, Gamespot reviews are randomly become Sh!!, remember giving Epic Mickey 6.5? that was one of the best game released last year. even as an April's fool, this is neither funny nor interesting,
I would have given this article credit. - If it was an article about buying systems in launch window in general, including 360, PS3, DS, and almost any other system - If it had used screen shots of SSF IV 3D or Shadow Wars and had been fair - if it had talked about the load of software in the system alone but it didn't, so in the meanwhile, go hide back in your haterism cave, because it is one of the best launches ever. --- btw, Steel Diver is a pretty neat game with a very novel control mechanism, and it has an expert mode which I bet you don't even know is unlockable, and isn't low on content as some make you believe
