8/10 at least, it's almost as good as diablo 2 EASILY with loot 2.0 and the other 2.0.2 changes.

Of course the story is linear, it's not a story about 'choosing your own path' it's like playing through a book, or.. 99% of games. choice is overrated. i want a well thought out cohesive story, and D3 gives you that.

@Ayzed as i've said a few times, give it a play with patch 2.0.2 without the expansion.. they seriously fully fixed the game, it's GOOD now.

@Shelledfade1 it a great addition, it means you don't have the stupid economy like pre-expansion, or in Diablo 2 with SoJ trading.

@ph1nn Actually a lot has changed, given you now have adventure mode, and the revamped paragon system... You can experience it all without the expansion, i suggest you do.

there was no mention of the patch 2.0.2 tied to reaper, which totally changed the loot sytem, among other things. Diablo 3 2.0.2 is 99% as good as Diablo 2 LOD WITHOUT even having reaper. That's the best compliment anyone could give it.

Before you put down the money though, just boot up vanilla with the latest patch, you'll find i'm right.
