I think this is more like a rumor, but if this is true it will make my day. Since nintendo has lots of young gamers (kids), a protection like friend codes will just make the parents happy. But it will not satisfy the gamers, i guess this will work the firend code problem out.
BTW Miyomoto said Nintendo is equally interested about online game play , nintendo just have a diffrent vision than XBox live or PS3 home. So fans might never have the same thing as the XBL service.
Decent games doesn't mean it'll sell well, what ps3 needs is a wave of good games that can only be brought up by themselves- SCE. They need a bunch of good and famous games that will boost up their sell. Something like MGS 4, FF XIII, GT 5; theses games with good prestige will help increase their sell. Well PS3 fans, if you are satisfied now then there is nothing more i can say.
I think PS3's technology of Blu-Ray and cell processor is just too ahead of our time. If ps3 came out later as ps4 it might have potentials due to the seasons of the dying dvd. But in 2007 with only 20% of people having HDTV, a next gen video player is just useless right now. The demands are too low for either a BD or HD dvds. If they could just keep their strength, keep the companies happy and good games coming then PS3 would not be immersed into this trouble now. I guess they were overconfident with their product and thought everyone will buy it due to their brand and previous successes.
I think Nintendo will dominate this year. After watching 05 E3 revolution video, I think Nintendo kept most of their promises; the ad wasn't exaggerating anything. Hopefully thy can announce a series of wifi games all at once Or something creative like the touch generation things.Â
Have you ever thought that the new gamers that bought the wii might have a hard core gamer at home? Since my sister/brother/parents own a wii, I can get some good games for it! Wii might not be attractive to hard core gamers, but when they already have a console they might as well get the games for it.
