I do really still love nintendo's products, but my problem with them is that they have a machine capable of making the perfect fps as well as rpg and all i get are things like WiiMusic. I personally have fun when I play the games like WiiMusic and WiiPlay with my friends. But once I reached level pro on tennis in WiiSports the only time i play it is when I'm playing with friends. That is where the real problem lies for me, party games are nice, but i can't even get a decent non-Nintendo game that I can play by myself let alone other games. I love the usual Nintendo games [Mario, Zelda, Metroid, SSMB]. I just want more games like my Metroid Prime 3 and Resident Evil 4 which is so far the best shooters I have played on the Wii. To me there is just way too much emphasis on the motion controls for every single game. In Resident evil 4 the motion cotrols are saved for slicing, aiming, and random action sequences a la Time Crisis. We all know Nintendo can deliver with their games but third party support for anything but party games sucks. That and anything that is multiplatforming on the Wii usually sucks as well. The features are usually thrown away especially on pretty much all of EA's games [which i very much like, I love Madden and NFS and I take Live for what it is.] On a positive note, I like the WiiWare and the VC and in fact I have games from both.
But to return to the question at hand, My only issue comes with the lack of depth and creativity form the third party fps and rpg. RPGs are rly lacking in that the only one I even have is FFCC: My Life as a King [which I personally like how Final Fantasy is done on PS2 and PS3 better]. You could evn do a great MMORPG on the Wii, given the proper internet connection, since the WiiMote is nothing but a mouse and all the buttons can be commands. To me, Nintendo needs to get on quality control from Third Party developers because I rly hate that every game I want to play can't seem to incorporate the Wii controls nicely unless its a party game with me doing ridiculous stunts. I feel like once they get more FPSs and RPGs that actually make well thought out use of the controls as well as have interesting story they will appease their fans.
That being said, I still do like the Wii for what its worth. Nintendo just needs to regulate and get rid of so many non-story games with repetitive motions. If I could get a decent RPG, basketball, football, and non-mario kart racing game [not to diss mario kart but sometimes when i'm racing i just wanna race in a normal car in a city] a la NFS Underground I'd be even happier with my Wii.
