So, just bought me a shiny new PS4 Pro. My old PS4 has a pretty full 2TB hdd with all my crap installed, so there were some upgrade transfer issues. Nothing a ruthless culling of old game install data couldn't fix. I stuffed in my trusty old 1TB SSHD, then plugged the original Pro hdd into the external case the SSHD was in and reinstalled my install data. I've got a 2TB 7200rpm SSHD Firecuda coming in in a few days, so I was wondering. Has anyone done the upgrade from a PS4 with data saved on an external to a new internal hard drive? Seems like I'm gonna have to do the back up and restore shuffle again.

Edit - So still waiting on the drive, but playing around with backup it looks like since its the same PS4, I can just back up whats on the internal, pop in the new drive, then restore those files. It doesn't give you the option to back up the external installs, presumably because they are already "back up." So the files on the external should just work after the install and restore.

Starting work could just mean R&D, and any company in Sony's position is probably doing it, MS is probably doing it, Nintendo was probably doing it right after the Wii U released. Doesn't mean your going ahead 100% with things, just means you're taking time, testing waters with new ideas, conceptualizing, whatever.

This isn't new news, we got articles like this last gen.

MS will just put it off to the last minute again and steal Sony's development crumbs. They swooped in and took Cell's PPE, they "borrowed" a cheaper version of Sony's AMD APU, and they will likely just buy another knockoff singleboard solution nearly the same as Sony's and stick it in an ugly noisy box. Assuming Xbox isn't dead by then.

oh god, go huff another jar of modelling glue

All those facts hurting your butt? Just lay back and think of Master Chief...

I second that nVIDIA are being a bunch of pricks. They've always have been. At least AMD is nice enough to offer open API's. That, and they don't price gouge as much as nVIDIA does on their GPU line. You know what, we should do with all of this proprietary crap that constantly plagues development.

Eh, Physx looks gimmicky anyways.

Physx is open source now. TressFX is not however, along with all the Gameworks crap that everyone just turns off.

Surprised it didn't ask for you bank account details and to show your ID or driving license to the Kinect.

HALT CITIZEN. PUT DOWN THE CONTROLLER AND STARE AT KINECT. YOU HAVE 10 SECONDS TO COMPLY.

I'd say **** Nvidia, but my laptop has a 960M in it. Desktop rig has AMD's crossfired though. This seems like giant BS. Its sounds like its not actually adding features, it getting devs to add code that intentionally bogs down AMD cards. Then they throw it in AMD's face and say "make it work lol" knowing full well AMD can't do crap about it without Nvidia's source code. Thats stupid and anti-competitive. The games probably run fine on the PS4 and Xbone because that code isn't there.

Good to know not to buy Project Cars. Frankly, Shift 2 was garbage, and I don't like supporting devs that support crap like this. They know full well why it runs good on the consoles and not on AMD PC's.

For home consoles, no. Its insanely convenient for portables though. I refuse to buy any more 3DS cartridges. Even the whole adding points crap is gone now, you can just buy it off the Nintendo store and it adds the game to your download queue. Home consoles no no no. I do buy some, but mostly stuff like Dark Souls or Bloodborne. Not stuff I'm just gonna beat quickly then craigslist.

@charizard1605: Is this news? Console manufacturers always start development on the next gen within 2 years of a console launch.

I remember reading about Cell right after the PS2's launch.

How the heck is this argument still going? PS4 is pushing 30% more pixels at 15+fps more than the Xbone. This was basically a slaughter.
