Good topic....I do think DLC will start being the norm for games now because.
1. Hardcore fans will buy anything that comes out for there favorite game no matter how much it cost. (Ex. halo)
2. DLC is a way to ship a game without having to be completely done. Ship it with 8 maps, DLC 6 later on. No excuses but I'm sure that's how they think now.
3. Great games like Oblivion and Graw have got a bus load of content. And I do believe it's great in keeping the game alive. I still play Graw all the time and Ubi really showed love to its faithful fans. Yes we are paying for it. but we also got some free content. So ubi does care about the fans.
Over all I like DLC for the future of gaming. Games like Halo release there content free after a set time period. And if others adapt this method, I believe most people can't complain. The hardcore can buy when it's fresh. And the causal can get it later for free.
