@Tixylixx remember that GPU performance is now much more important in terms of gaming. If you look at how the PC market has evolved, that becomes quite clear. The CPU is really only useful for background tasking in terms of desktop. So i would guess this is what the role of the CPU will be in next gen consoles
@mastaace46 exactly. However, both consoles have very similar architecture in comparison to 360 and ps3. So i would guess that small perfomance increases for either console will not be hard to justify
@Prats1993 Im not sure about that idea that the 360 could "never" run these games. But yes the ps3 when implemented correctly had a lot more power. But if you were to design a game for both platforms, you would have to write completley independant code. I doubt they would even bother. So yes when it comes to designing a game for just the ps3 platform, the hardware boost definitley showed
@mastaace46 even though the ps3 was said to be better than the 360, it really wasnt. Its architecture was horrible, and made it really difficult for devs to implement the power. As a result i personally think 360 games were just as smooth etc. However, the ps4 was designed by game developers and is practically a desktop. As such, expect some truley incredible performance. Whats even better for desktop gamers now is that since the platforms are now so similar; PC ports wont be so terrible, and PC performance boosts wont be so hard to implement.
