*******spoiler*************

I am at the very end of assassin's creed. I "assassinated" the imposter Le Salle and now need to chase the real one down in Asfur. However everytime I leave a city it goes right to the choose a destination map which Asfur is not on because I haven't been there yet. I am unable to get on the world map so I can find him, how do I get back to free roaming the world map so that I can take him out? thanks

In response to such threads I often see people post that they own both and for now their PS3 is just collecting dust.  I also own both a 360 and a PS3.  My 360 has not been turned on in the past 3 months and I only own 2 PS3 games.  No real reason for mentioning this, just wanted to let people know that not every PS360er has a $600 dollar dust magnet on their hands, some are only burdened with a $400 dollar one.

The cheap cable I was looking at said that it can transmit 720p and 1080p but did not mention 1080i.  Would it make sense that a cable could transmit 720p and 1080p but not 1080i or should I assume that if it can do two it can do all three?

I am looking for an HDMI cable for my PS3 but am tech illiterate. Does the brand have any noticeable affect on quality or will any HDMI cable be just fine? I saw a gioteck cable for 15 quid (I am an American currently studying in the U.K.) while all other cables I have seen are 40-50 quid. Does anyone know whether gioteck is any good or can suggest a good website for tech reviews? Any help will be greatly appreciated.

Does anyone else think that the idea of having an achievement filled room may have been inspired by FFXII?  The Playstation home as well as all the other news coming out has me eagerly awaiting the rest of this month.

i must say i dont believe in my personal opinion that there's been any games with an excellent storyline so farHDready
I would suggest Xenogears. That game has an amazing story. When you are playing it unless you are a scholar on jewish and christian mythology i would suggest being on wikipedia and looking up every single name that comes up as most are a biblical reference which actually gives you more insight into the character or location. Also Final Fantasy VII has a great plot but I appreciate it more for the characters which are in my opinion the best developed and most interesting of any game I have played. The Xenosaga series is also interesting but very confusing and quite a time commitment to beat all 3. FF X has an interesting story for its twists and I also appreciate the perspective they chose for it. Chornocross is another keeper. The characters are absolutely terrible and you will form not attachment to them and it is a rather slow game with little motivation to push forward in the first half of the game besides just reaching the next area but the last half more than makes up for the slow start as it is just crazy. MGS 1-3 are all good. I would sugest playing them in order. MGS 2 is kind of trippy but if you can get your head around the plot it is really really good. I think alot of people missed some of the finer and tighter points of MGS 2, Kojima did a phenomenal job with the story there. If you haven't played any of these game and want a good story give them a try. I am a story snob and these are my favorites.

A good story is what I enjoy most about a game.  Even in FPS's and Action games a good story makes it all the more fun because it allows you to get emotionally invested in what you are doing.  If a villian is well crafted and real motivation is developed for the main character it is all the more fun to get head shots and pull off wicked combos.  Some genres don't necessarily need a strong story but it will always make a game substantially better.  I for one am not a fan of this recent trend in moving away from having a good single player story and experience and relying on online for games.  It allows for memorable moments (like when I killed every member of the other team holding up ina room in the Ivory Tower in Halo 2 they had the shotgun, rocket launcher and sniper rifle while I used only plasma grenades), but it doesn't really make me remember a game as a whole very much.  I still to this day think back on Final Fantasy VII and just reminisce in my head about the characters and the great story and it always make me smile and want to pop the game in again just to revisit the great story.  Well developed characters and a driving story at the end of the day are what make games the most memorable and enjoyable in the long term for me.

The sixaxis feels more comfortable in my hands then the 360 controller and I like the sixaxis' positioning of the analog sticks better even for FPS's.  However, I do like the triggers of the 360 better.  I feel like you get a better grip on them and pulling it feels more natural because of the curve.

I am not a big FPS fan and I absolutely love resistance.  It is just a very fun game to play through.  The weapons make it alot more interesting than your average FPS.  The graphics are good unto themselves but reveal and absurd amount of potential for the future.  If would suggest downloading and playing the demo when you get your PS3 and at least try this game because it managed to turn on a hardcore RPG gamer like myself.
