I recently replayed through Uncharted 2 again and encountered the total game freeze/ PS3 crash (for the first time ever) during Shambhala. The work-around? I deleted the most recent Uncharted 2 "update" from the PS3 menu/ Game/ Game Data Utility. When relaunching the game, I ignored the option to "install update" and I was able finish the game just fine.
