@lostn: Well, they did, actually. With Sony being absent and Keanu presenting Cyberpunk for them, they made it feel like one of the most anticipated games of the decade was a Xbox exclusive! Also, it is clear there will be no PS5 before 2021 and Scarlet will arrive first. Maybe MS did not "win", but Sony surely lost a lot by being absent. As a PS early adopter, I am quite pissed.
I am an old guy. I used to buy games full price and get the disc (or cart). Then things went digital and I only got a download code. Ok. I still felt like I owned something as I did get a file to keep (thanks GOG.com). Now I still have to pay full price and I don't even get to download my game!! LOL. What's next? "Give us the money and come to play it in our office, with amazing speed connection to our servers, whenever you like (disclaimer: transportation costs not included)"?
I am curious, but I think this will tank badly (and I won't be sad if it does)
First season was fantastic. Best show I saw in the last few years. The point was that they finally overcame the dichotomy good guy/bad guy and we only had two "guys" with their issues, qualities and defects, like all of us, and, with the background story we all remember, this was an absolute treat.
I am really looking forward to season 2 but with the old "really bad guy" back in, I hope they don't get back into the old fashioned way of doing things in either black or white. Gray is much more interesting!
90% of my purchases are physical but the MS game pass service is actually quite good. I don't have an xbox yet so I could actually buy this... but only if it is significantly cheaper than the standard model (let's say $150 max)
Watched the movie yesterday and read the book twice (probably going to read it one more time now :P)
Didn't really really like this review since it's obvious the author didn't read nor understood the book at all.
Anyway, the story in the movie is much simplified compared to the book. I was kind of disappointed by this but the movie still works well and the flow is great, as you'd expect from a Spielberg movie. Saying those are "smart" changes though is silly. A book is always better than its film. And there were no zombies in the Shining!!
