I have a question regarding 1080p content. Where is it all? I recently upgraded from an XGA classroom projector to a 1080p home theater projector. The difference is IMMENSE. The colors, contrast, aspect ratio, etc are all awesome.

I own a PS3(will be purchasing a WiiU for Christmas) and watch TV via Dish Network. After being so pumped for getting my projector I can't find any 1080p content! Turns out HD on TV is 720p or 1080i based on content. Seems none of the PS3 games I own display a native 1080p resolution.

So are buying/renting blu rays the only way to enjoy 1080p? I looked online for WiiU games in native 1080p and only saw Smash Brothers and Wind Waker HD. I will be buying the WiiU for my kid anyway. Thx for letting me kow.

I think the new consoles output in 1080p also pc games can run in 1080p, 1440p, 1600p, etc.... For video I believe many netflix videos are 1080p and they have a plan for 4k as well.

@lightwave007:

In regards to your statement "I will call Samsung to see if the TV refresh rate changes. Right now its at 240hz maybe it needs to come down to 120hz" I had done research a few years ago ,(not sure if things have changes) however when it comes to refresh rates of 120hz and 240hz in hdtvs it all mostly bullsh*t. As far as I know you only get to take advantage of true 120hz or above on a computer monitor using a DVI-D cable.

@neatfeatguy: Thanks, I have a Noctua heatsink, and good airflow maybe I will adventure into overclocking. My variety and majority of most of the work I do has gotten too be more busy (a good thing). I may talk to my ISP to see their plans or consider moving to get Fiber. I think I would save a lot of time (daily) if I had Fiber internet speeding things up. Thanks.

@neatfeatguy:

Thanks for the reply and for bringing up excellent points about different factors. I connect hardwired to a router with a Cat6 cable and I receive my Cable internet service provider's advertised speeds (125 down and 25 up). My computer is good overall. Windows 10, i7-3770k @3.5ghz processor, 16 gb ram, gtx 980ti video card, asus sabertooth z77 motherboard (Max LAN Speed10/100/1000Mbps). I do maintain the latest drivers as often as possible. Note: I do plan on upgrading most of PC soon.

Assuming I have (buy or rent one) router / modem capable of high end Fiber speeds (with my current PC specs) will I most likely benefit from Fiber connection? Like in my situation mentioned above turning about 160 minutes of work / loading times to 100 minutes or less with Fiber (and the fact that I work fast on a PC in general)).

I have a Fiber internet question / idea. I would appreciate any opinions. With my current cable internet 125 mbps down and 25 mbps up speed each internet related task I do for work ( I work from home) can take about 15 or 20 seconds of internet loading. For example many of my tasks are accessing and making changes to back end of a website, or processing a PayPal refund, accessing and editing Google sheets, etc... I do these things frequently throughout the day. Would Fiber internet significantly reduce my work times? For example if I do 500 work related tasks in a day at 20 seconds each task that is about 166 minutes of work (waiting for website to load, logging in, accessing something, editing something, etc...) If I used Fiber internet (at a speed of something like 960 mbps download and 200 mbps upload would my 166 minutes of work most likely be significantly reduced at possibly 100 minutes or less?

I am considering moving to a nearby city to have access to Fiber internet. If my theory is correct in that Fiber internet it will save many hours per month of constantly staring at web actions loading slowly (what I think is slow).

I have not played online multiplayer / co-op PC games in a few years. However I wanted to get back into it. Would Fiber internet make online gaming almost flawlessly smooth? I remeber back in Borderlands 1 and 2 days the games where mostly smooth online however a lot of action seemed to create some lag / hiccups. Thanks for any input!

Currently I can not boot into Windows 7. I installed an old nvidia 9800gt video card for phys-x in addition to my GTX 980ti. Then I noticed (probably due to no drivers yet) it made my pc slow, could not access nvidia control panel to make it a phys-x card, and it was very loud. Not wanting to deal with the noise, etc... I removed the 9800 video card. No I can not boot into windows.

In the Bios I can boot from my windows 7 disc, however if I try to do system repair, a message pops up saying " This version of system recovery options is not compatible with the Version of Windows you are trying to repair. Try using a recovery disc that is compatible with this version of Windows." I do not have current recovery disc that I want to use.

Any advice on how I can get back in to Windows, possibly flashing the bios, etc...? I know I can reinstall Windows 7 and wipe the ssds and mechanical drive (not too big of a deal as my crucial files are backed up). Is there a way to just upgrade now to Windows 10 for free and skip reinstalling windows 7 first.

You can easily play pc games with something from the following gamepads, example : Xbox one , ps4, steam controller, Scuf and Cinch controllers. scuf and cinch controlers work great to avoid abxy and traingle cirlce square circle buttons

I barely have an interest in building, improving, securing, modifying etc.... multiple home locations. I am considering improving the Sanctuary home and that is it. Is there a benefit to building up multiple locations? Similar to Gwent in Witcher 4 I barely have an interest in home building in Fallout 4 (about 9 hours played). My lack of Gwent interest does not seem to have effected my Witcher 3 game-play (about 50 hours) so far. Overall I want to know if it is needed or extremely important.
