@Raidendude153: Because throwing money at something does not magically make it go faster... do you have the idea that for every million a developer spends they lose a million bugs or something? That's not quite, or at all, how it works... I mean, just think about what you're saying... and then think about how difficult it would be to run 3 or 4 studios with 400 employees and make sure they're all doing the same thing and in the end it all fits together. If anything, more money makes it more complicated.
@sol_invictus3: Like everyone else said... better they take their time and do it right with the 400 staff they have working on it, instead of ending up with a game of similar quality to something someone like Derek Smart (hi Derek, you psychopathic weirdo!) would release.
@nurnberg: Perhaps because I actually find the game fun even it's current state (which is seriously promising for the next few months), and oh yeah, the more people who play it now, the more data and feedback the developers get to iron out bugs and make the whole process faster.
@Anteares: Why, why, why would they add new features?? Because i'll tell you what would happen in that case. They add new features, which inevitably have problems, which players then demand are fixed, which then takes resources away from more important things...
I personally much prefer the current system which is very simple - a limited playground to test the basic functions of the game and make sure the netcode gets gradually better, and theeeen, in 3.0 they can begin to add the things they've been working on for the last 2 years which we haven't been able to get our hands on yet.
But I'm guessing you hadn't thought about what you were saying.
@xvleroyvx: Sweet jesus... this generation is sad. You've lost hope in the game due to a TRAILER?? And what it "looks like"? I think this is when you know that you've been given what you want a few too many times. Suck it up, wait for the game to come out and then see how you feel. Just think of all those times you've seen a trailer, thought it looked awesome then it turned out to be utter shite. Well, imagine that in reverse. Because it does actually happen.
Played it for a few hours when I got it, and haven't touched it since. They may be able to tempt me back on one condition - NO MORE MINING! I'd say we all have better things to do than stare at a virtual rock and the trigger pressed down... pop up to the station, sell it, pop back down, mine some more and repeat until you have a ridiculous amount of credits to buy a ship that looks almost identical to the one you already have.
@radic202: Do you fully understand what "vapourware" is? That is something which doesn't actually exist even though a snake-oil salesman says it does, like Trump's election pledges.
