i've got one of those but i'm upgrading shortly.......u can play cod4 on it fine on800x600 with most settings off but with textures on high and full AF.
gets about 50-70 fps....good thing about cod4 is that it looks great on low resolutions.
also i tried rivatuner........problem with ur card is that it doesnt have active cooling....when i overclock my card the temps go thru the roof when under load
you could get a dedicated graphics powersupply, i intend to.
fits in a 5.25 drive slot and powers just ur graphicscard. it saves ur having to upgrade to an expensive psu....
quite hard to get hold of but u mentioned u live in the uk?
see here. 250w just for ur gfx card.....oh and it gets its power from the wall and is connected to ur main psu so its synchronised
hey guys,
im about to buy a 9600gso from xfx but realising that my power supply probably won't handle it (305w dell..eeeek, i know)...i thought i'd get one of these thermaltake gpu psu's as i'd rather not pay £60 upwards to upgrade to a more powerful psu. i don't really pla to go SLI anytime in the near future so i thought this would be a welcome upgrade to my pc.
im quite a casual gamer not looking for crazy ass performance.
so is it a good idea? i heard lots of people belittling this piece of kit but i think its brilliant idea
ts also something i could swap out into other pc's in the future.
