Pretty much any device has Netflix these days. If you have a 360, PS3 or Wii, you have Netflix. As stated before, most newer TVs and Bluray players have it as well.
The first 200 hours of a plasma TV's life are when the highest risk is there. After that, the phospates don't get as hot and your risk is signifigantly reduced.
Just make sure after a long period of gaming, you display something on the screen that is constantly moving for about an hour or so. This is a good DVD for maintaining your plasma (and its free)... http://www.eaprogramming.com/" title="http://www.eaprogramming.com/">http://www.eaprogramming.com/
As was said, it's still a great console. Sony even has a new TV with a PS2 built in.
I've never had a console that didn't freeze on me. Sometimes code just gets stuck in a loop. It happens, you're good to go.
If the gameplay/story draw me in, I usually forget all about graphics. Like Fallout 3/NV. Questionable graphics, but I forget all about it as soon as I start playing.
My 120gb slim is silent as far as fan noise. The laser going back and forth is definitely audible. Of course, my 360 is torn apart with 80mm fans on each of its two heatsinks... so I don't think the PS3 has a chance at being loud.
120gb slim with a 320gb drive.
I originally told myself I would buy a PS3 when Gran Turismo 5 came out. Years went by, and after my 6th Xbox 360 died, I learned and bought a PS3, along with Uncharted 2. I have since bought another 360... its great not missing out on exclusives.
