@MuffintopX: Yeah for sure you are right, which is why it all started with me saying 30fps is fine for single player games that tend to lend themselves to a more cinematic approach to begin with. I would never say 60fps isn't the standard for racers, online shooters and fighting games.
I'm not arguing that some people will find 60 a lot better in every aspect but its just being blown way out of proportion, I've seen people point blank refuse to play a game because its 30fps that's just absolutely ridiculous and its only been the past 4/5 or so years where people have been using 60fps as a weapon. It's p***ing me off recently lol. Especially since the pro got announced its been the topic of near enough every single article "but 1080p 60 > 4k 30" etc, fair enough if you prefer 60 but don't sit there and tell me that its the gold standard when 90% (mad estimate, no source - made it up from what I could imagine being the case lol) of people buying the games won't give a shit about it you know what I mean :)
@silversix_: I just don't sit here and pretend that 60fps is the be all and end all of everything like most people seem to be saying on forums nowadays. No one moaned on the PS3/PS2/PS1 gens because in the grand scheme its the vocal minority on forums that make it seem like its a massive deal.
Lets talk the last of us, hailed as last generations best game by a hell of a lot of people (its not arguable its a fact that most sites and people will agree it was probably the best of the generation) I rebought it on PS4 for this MASSIVE game changing 60fps jump, went in expecting night and day . . . It wasn't night and day by a long stretch. I thought is it just me? Tried it with at least 6 friends, no one gave a shit. its still the same game in 60, looks the same (from 30/60 not PS3/4) just plays a little smoother.
Lets talk infamous, massive open world with the unlocked frame rate option. It's got to feel night and day this game is about fluid motion I said to myself . . . Didn't make that much of a difference.
60fps is blown way way way out of proportion, I know it, you know it and most devs know it (hence locked 30fps on PC games which have to be requested to be unlocked or the modders/community will find a way)
Don't take that as me saying it makes NO difference, but the difference is not even worth thinking about making a new console to hit. People clearly want better looking games, not a character that moved fluid to begin with moving that little bit more fluid.
@silversix_: 30fps single player is fine anyone who says they can't deal with 30fps in single player is a moron.
Still though, nothing looks better on any console/pc. But having the best looking game (games - the order) created shows how weak it is doesn't it? . . . .
You PC goons don't have a Scooby do, if its not got 12gb of ram, 2x GPU's, a liquid cooling system and running at 300fps it sucks right??? Are you with me guys??? hahaha!! plebs. Come back when your PC can run a game like the last of us on PS3 spec, "bbbbbbbut it needs more power" :') clown.
Edited - not sure if your a pc goon but you certainly seem like it.
@Warlord_Irochi: I never watched much if the video to be honest it's a game that's better played imo! I had a Google though and you are spot on. Looking forward too it!! Although I can already see me spending most of the time playing 1v1s they are so intense!! When you go 2-0 down and have a comeback to 3-2 is a buzz!!
Blown away by how fun the alpha is, as I said below if it is priced fairly or has a campaign to fill it out a bit and some offline stuff I'll get it day one. Otherwise I'll wait for it to go £30 or something but I will 100% be getting it at some point its excellent.
