But beyond all that, I don't know what your history with these old games are, but there are several more virtual console games you should be playing right now, and there will eventually be dozens that will be worth a download.
And plus, as for games to own right now, I love SSX Blur. If you liked those games, but didn't play SSX 3 all that much (cause they have mostly the same tracks), you will love this game. It's true, some of the later uber tricks are impossiible to pull off, but you can get the first few to the point where you can do it every time, and that is so satisfying. And the tilt control for steering is excellent, especially because you can set the amount that your tilt controls the steering versus how much moving the analog stick does so. I don't like flicking the wiimote to jump, but I just use the A button like in the old games.
And one more thing, if you haven't heard of Zak and Wiki, or dismissed it cause of its stupid name, definitely read up on it. I think it's going to be the first great low-to-mid 9-point original third party game for the Wii. Again, the IGN people have a lot to say about it, so read up on it over there.
Hope I've helped persuade you to stick it out!

Anyway, other than that, I'd say go with Castlevania and NSMB. I never understood the fun of Pokemon...
I got on the preorder line at Game Stop about four minutes after the store was scheduled to open. They started letting people in the store one at a time a half hour later, and I was number 23 on the list for 32 preorders. If I had gone to the EBGames upstairs, I would have been screwed - they only had 18 preorders available.
I was lucky to have been able to walk 5 minutes from my apartment to the largest retailer by volume in the city. This compensated for my lax and lazy manner.
I love Philadelphia; I will miss it...
