I recently made a bet with the parentals and it looks like I'll be winning, which means they'll either get me a 360 Elite or a PS3, the only problem is I've been asking my friends which is better but I've gotten nothing but mixed feelings.
I'm leaning towards the 360, seeing how I like shooting games, and anything involving zombies. And I've also heard that many improvements have been made to the 360 Elites since they first came out, including a much quieter, more efficient fan.
I've made a little list of pros and cons for each console, but I'd also like to know of any Improvements made to either console that i might not (and probably don't) know about. (I'd greatly appreciate an advice or knowledge offered)
Xbox 360 Elite
Pros: WAY more games, xbox live & marketplace (i love the whole acheivements thing, the idea of getting stuff just for playing games is brilliant and simple) , hefty controller, zombie games, wide variety of shooter games, huge 120GB harddrive for all my music and movies, removeable batteries on controller, more accessories, expensive HDMI cable included with the package, direct connect for if you have more than 4 people and an extra tv, you can charge and listen to you mp3 player at the same time (not intirely sure if the PS3 can do that or not), smoother gameply (from what i've experienced), 50$ cheaper than the 80GB PS3, most of my friends have one, gears of war, bioshock, halo 3 (among other games)
Cons: rather loud, overheats, always the present fear of the "red rings of death", no wireless internet built in
PS3
Pros: Beautiful looking, quiet, stays cool, built in wireless, multiple card slots (SD, CF, SM, MS i.e.), bluetooth controllers, bluray hd dvd and dvd already buillt in, GFX is slightly (although barely noticeable) better, ratchet & clank games (always been a fan), and the success of the PS2 already under sony's belt who knows how much they'll do in the future
Cons: Not that many games, controllers feel horrible (no vibrate either), built in controller battery that can wear out, crappy 3ft cords to charge controllers, have to have PS3 turned on to charge controllers, have to pay $50 for a fricken 6 foot HDMI cable, online isn't the greatest, not as many accessories, no PS3 marketplace, have to get the 80GB for best (but still limited) backwards compatibility (which i don't appreciate, since i own a PS2 with about 30 games), they lost alot of 3rd party support
