@Gelugon_baat: It's a valid critique, and one that has a place in a review. That said, one person's unpleasant design, is another's idea of fun. Many people love the exploration aspect of these games. Just because a game isn't appealing to everyone doesn't make it poorly designed; just designed with a certain audience in mind.
@GeorgeOglee I hate to say it, but I agree. I loved the humor, but the game it's self was just too simplistic, practically no enemy variation, level cap at 15, which you can reach early on makes fights pointless, and yeah, after a few hours it was just a slog to get to the cut scenes and finish the game.
I wanted to enjoy this game more than I did. As a South Park fan it's a must buy...too bad some issues kept it from ascending to the greatness it could have been.
Some things I really hated.
Tech issues (PS3) every time I entered a new area I had that stupid bear loading icon and for like 15-20 seconds MAJOR slow down and frame rate drop - this happened constantly
Audio files cut off - every time I took Timmy's fast travel he's start to deliver a line then be cut off that sucked
Level cap at 15 This was unforgivable - all enemy encounters are pointless - and you aren't able to max out any magic unless you're careful with your point allocation, seriously stupid decision
This game was dead in the water and then the assets bought and finished by another company and it's a miracle it was released at all - the death screen is so rushed and tacked - it sucks because it just looks and feels so halfassed. on (many things are) it's such a shame as so much care was put into the writing and assets that the final product suffers from so many technical issues.
this game is an odd combo of polish and half finished rushed out the door problems
That said it's well worth playing - just don't get your expectations up too high
Totally don't undestand some of these posts...Loved BL1 but hated BL2? Are ya retarded? It's the same Fing game only improved in every way. The first one was an F-ton of fun, and the second one is as well. The world is just more fleshed out, as is the story. Both games are all about fun gun play, and they both deliver. BL2 is a fantastically fun FPS and well worth anyone's time...especially at it's reduced price.
@TenraiSenshi Couldn't agree more. This isn't a review, it's click bait. Should be posted in-between "7 Celebirty Sad Sack Who Went From Rehab to Christ" and "10 Scariest Movie Monsters.
I bought the 360 shortly after launch and shied away from the PS3. I owned a Dreamcast, N64, NES etc. And enjoyed all those consoles. But the 360 was the system that a year after owning it, I was still in love with it. I bought the PS3 a little over a year ago because of the price and the exclusive titles. I absolutely love it. my 360 doesn't have wirless and the adapter costs an arm and a leg while the PS3 I own is power on you got your online. Netflix is another boost. I still play my 360, only not as much, and with so many titles (Little Big Planet 2, Infamous 2, Gears of War 3, Resistance 3 etc. not to mention so many xbl and psn titles) I have more games than i can handle in the foreseeable future all probably great and all for dirt cheap. I mean I bought Resistance 1 for 4 bucks and LOVED it, it's dated but fun was fun as hell. I'll most likely own both the PS4 and XBOX1 but will wait till there are tons of games, but most likely will get the PS4 first. This truly is a great time to be a gamer. Shit I may even pick up a cheap Wii for some of it's classics now that it's cheap.
Well here's hoping they get some traction, the only games I've seen similar to their look are the vanilliaware games, and those (while I love them) are not for everyone. All I know is I'll keep posting praise and supporting (with my hard earned green backs) the developers who put out such creative and, quite frankly, remarkable games like these.
The offensive character thing made me think that this dude was trying to be the next Tom McShea, but the rest of his review suprising was lucid, and McShea always has some inexplicably large disconnect between his review and the score. This review was middling, didn't tell me enough about the game play, but wasn't god awful, just a little dumb with the offensive character designs.
