Yes, it'll work fine with your monitor. I used a Dell 2007WFP myself and the VGA cable is definitely worth it. Besides, I prefer sitting close to the monitor when I play games. (edit, the guy below me made it more confusing than it is. All you need is a VGA port on your monitor, which yours has. It doesn't have to be a big CRT screen. Also you'll be able to play in 1280x1024)
I don't think there even is any multiplayer. Everything which makes the game interesting is in the plot and creepy atmosphere, neither of which would be online. Really I don't think multiplayer would suit the game at all.

Ummm, what do you think will be shining on your 360 in your nice comfortable living room... you know, through the windows. That is unless your console is in your dark, windowless basement.
So what, do you suggest they make it out of black velvet instead?
Get a PS2 and take a photo of it with the flash turned on, I'm sure it'll look grey just like the new 360.
