I have tested 4 different video signals on the same output machine on the same TV (HD projection) and I found the following. All cables were of high quality and this was a standard def. DVD.

Worst to Best:

AV cables (puke), coax, S-Video, HDMI, Component

There was a big difference between AV cables and S-Video and then another jump from S-Video to HDMI/Component. I actually thought that the component had slightly richer colors but wasn't quite as sharp (by quite I mean you can't really tell unless you switch back and forth a hundred times and then maybe). I perfered the look of component though.

I think that you may be on to something here but it would have to be done right, like a shooter/role playing game.

I thought the movie was pretty fun but it should have ended like the book. In the book, a new 'race' of vamps take over the world and Mr. 'I am legend' is the last and final human being to die so it is sort of an evolution story too.

I don't know how you would work that into a game when then outcome is that you must loose.

I was in the same boat and just went for it. I don't have an ISP right now either. I figured that there are plenty of non-online games that are good enought to justify the buy and I was right.

I just picked up the Pro bundle yesterday. I did some research and decided that the extra HD space wasn't worth the cash for the elite. My pro has the HDMI output so don't let the advertising fool you into thinking that only the elite has this option. Basically, you are getting an extra 100gig HD and an HDMI cable for $100.
