Your problem is probably that either the Resident Evil disc is too scratched up to function properly, or the lense that reads the discs is dirty. If it is the latter, you can get a lense cleaning kit. There must be one for Gamecube.
I have to say that Super Paper Mario is my favorite Wii game. Nintendo has really got the story and humor down pat with that one. It's surpisingly deep and uses pretty good foreshadowing. Currently I'm at level 8-2, which is two levels before the final one. I cannot wait for the final reveal.
I really think that the PC is doing slightly worse than the Xbox 360. This is because most of it's good games are being ported to the 360, which has had more of today's good games to start with. However, this dosen't apply to the glorious PC games of yester year.
