Nothing wrong with being a gamer.

I love to play video games. I love the thought of a virtual world. I love the thought of being in control of a virtual person/thing in a virtual world. I think I love video games SOO much because I secretly wish I could help make them.

I don't know if the average person thinks about what it takes to create a video game while he or she plays it, but the time and effort involved are astronomical.

First, you need a good concept. You need to develop a why and a how, then you need to start to sketch out environment and characters, you need to go through many MANY stages of pass/fail, revisions, tweaking ... then you work on mechanics and physics, then interaction, writing the script, voice acting, sound effects, final touches, debug debug debug, beta, debug debug debug, polish and POOF, you got yourself a game.

The dev team, all support, actors, artists, marketing, execs; SOO many people. Nowadays it's like making a movie. I really have a lot of respect for the people who work their fingers to the bone for a year more or less to create a GAME!! A game that you or I might play for two minutes only to throw down the controller and think, "What a piece of junk."

If I could I would be CliffyB or J.P. from Grandma's Boy. The Nerdiest Rockstar of them all; a famous VG programmer.
