Growing up during the glory years of Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, it excites me and somewhat pains me to see the rebirth of TMNT (as they like to call it know). There are a couple of things that are exciting about the revival. First, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles the Arcade game is coming to Xbox Live Arcade. I loved that game when I was a kid playing it on the NES, but was never able to beat Shredder at the end. With the infinite continues, I should finally be able to beat him...oh and there is online coop, which is awesome.
The other thing that excites me is the fact that the Turtles rocked and it's just cool to see that the franchise isn't dead. They tried the revival early in 2000 and didn't succeed to well. Hopefully this time they can get things right and get the franchise rolling again.
The main thing that pains me is the way that they did the movie. CGI works and yes it is probably more practical...but for those who remember the old live action videos in the 90s, it just isn't the same. Sure the movies weren't the greatest, but they still had that special charm that was so great for kids. Also, I hope that this revival doesn't just spur a bunch of crappy cartoon shows that are trying to be "punk" or any kind of crap like that. Stay true to the old style and it should be good. Oh and the TMNT better be good.
