[QUOTE="mysticbc"]i appreciate the offer but was thinking of building my first. Just looking for some ideas on good hardwareUltimateGamer95
Sure! Ok I'd suggest going with the new ATi HD 5870 that's coming out soon. next, go with the Phenom 2 X4 955 CPU and a 790FX motherboard. Also I'd go with 6GB of DDR3 1600 RAM with a latency of 7. I'd also go with a OCZ Modxstream 700 Watt power supply and a Thermaltake spedo case (the cheaper one not the advanced package).

ok only one thing i don't need a CPU.. i won the Intel i7-965 and am trying to build a system to go around it..hehe I know that i need a motherboard with a X58 chip set but am not sure which one to go with.. keep reading reviews for some of the boards but keep getting conflicting reviews on which one is a good one that i will not have problems with. I plan on setting up a SLI or crossfire video but not sure when i will do that. Depends on money. I do want the ability to have 2 video boards in the future though. For right now i am thinking of taking the vidioe board out of this pc and using it but i am not sure if the new motherboard will be compatable right now i have a ATI 4850

OK so here is the story. I know enough about computers to get in trouble..lol and when I went to Blizzcon I won an I7-965 extreme ... only problem is my current pc can not handle the chip. What i am looking at doing is building my first pc and not really sure where to go from here. Little background is my Dad has been in computer programing and building computers since DOS. So i have some help but he is not as up to date on gaming hardware. As far as budget i am looking to get away with not much more than 1500.00 or less would be better but i need some ideas on which motherboards are good these days and which video card is good. Right now the pc i am using has a terabyte hard drive and a Radion HD 4850 with 8gig of ddr2 ram I also have a 650w power supply any advice would be greatly appreciated Thanks in advance' Mystic
