You're seating too far away...it's an Lcd not an retroprojector for god's sake
Its about 91/2 feet from a 50 inch 720p. Seems about right maybe a foot or two closer. . You have to remember this is my living room and I have to deal with the "opinions" of someone else. If this was all my vision there would be a few things I would change.
it is denial.. digital cables are all basically the same... if you're going over 12 feet though then the material is a factor...
Exactly! Unless your going a long distance there is no reason to get a more expensive hdmi cable.

You might want to start considering a real HT setup with a receiver and surround sound speakers. It may be a little out of your price range but will be well worth it in the long run considering the uncompressed audio formats the ps3 outputs via hdmi for games and bluray.
I would start off with something like this http://reviews.cnet.com/av-receivers/onkyo-tx-sr605-silver/4505-6466_7-32430580.html
And then add speakers from there like http://www.amazon.com/Polk-Audio-Channel-Theater-Titanium/dp/B0002WTK52
You can go a ton of different ways with the speakers.
Kind of a crap pic but you get the gist(sp?) of it.
Got a ps3 about a month ago and loving it. More of a bluray player now as my only game is uncharted but MGS isnt too far away.:)
Hey there are some pretty sweet setup's here. i have a question tho. Can anyone tell me how to make it so games fill the hole screen on and HD tv when i play cod 4 and halo 3 there are always these black strips on the sides of my screen. Can anyone tell how to fix this and why this is happening.Dasher61
Do you have the 360 component cables set to hd? Do you have the setting on the console set to output 720p/1080i/p widescreen?
