Socom: Confrontation

This game seriously deserves more hype.

I just pre-ordered the game and will be participating in the beta in a months time.

Let me know your PSN ID to any of you socom fans I used to play with.

If you somehow stumbled to this blog message, check out Socom: Confrontation...online play is what it's all about.

Finally got my own car.

Well since I'm going away from home to college which is like a hour away, It would be nice to have a car. So I got a 98 Pontiac Grand Prix. It's not the nicest car but it wasn't really expensive and it's in good shape.

Beat God of War on God mode and Challenge of the Gods

God of War certainly is one of the best games I have ever played, and after beating the game last year I decided to replay the game on God mode and wow it was pretty damn hard. I also finished Challenge of the Gods. It took me like 2 weeks to beat them both after some frustrating parts but I feel pretty accomplished.

Level 30

Well I just reached level 30 which took about a month, it's called "Wicked Sick". I guess it's a pretty nice milestone to reach.

Today I turn 18!

Well today is my birthday and I turn 18 today :) I really don't expect any big presents; I'll probably just get money. I guess it's pretty cool that you get to do some stuff you couldn't do before. Time has really been going fast and I'm just excited to going to college.

Graduated from High School; Got PSP

Well today I graduated from high school finally. I'm finally done with all that crap and I'm probably going to college. I have to admit though I really did suck in school...I mean I barely passed like important classes and my final GPA is like 2.6. But it got the job done and I'm happy to finally get High School over with.

One of my gifts was a Sony PSP. I got GTA: Liberty City Stories and Batman Begins (movie) along with it. I'm really happy to get one and I'm most likely going to love it and buy a bunch of games.

Patriots draft picks

Here are the players the New England Patriots drafted:

Round 1: Laurence Maroney - RB
Round 2: Chad Jackson - WR
Round 3: David Thomas - TE
Round 4: Garret Mills - FB/TE
Round 4: Stepen Gostkowski
Round 5: Ryan O'Callaghan - OT
Round 6: Jeremy Mincey - DE
Round 6: Dan Stevenson - OG
Round 6: Le Kevin Smith - DT
Round 7: Willie Andrews - S

I will give my Patriots a grade of B.

I'm kind of dissapointed the Patriots passed on DeAngelo Williams and took Laurence Maroney, but at least they took at RB. And I guess Belichick saw something in Maroney over Williams.  I like the pick of Chad Jackson in the 2nd round, Tom Brady can really use some good receivers. I really don't know why the Patriots drafted TE David Thomas in the 3rd. I mean they have 2 great TE's in Daniel Graham and Ben Watson. They really could of taken a Linebacker in the 3rd round instead of a unneeded TE.

Rockets miss the playoffs

The Houston Rockets, my favorite team in the NBA missed the playoffs this year. It was clearly a disappointing season, in which the Rockets were projected to be the 2nd best team in the West. But the Rockets were plagued with injuries, most notably T-Mac and Yao missing a good amount of games, and didn't play together much.

In the offseason the Rockets picked up Derek Anderson, Rafer Alston, Stromile Swift and drafted Luther Head. Derek Anderson was traded to the Heat because we pretty much had too many guards, and while he was injured, rookie Luther Head stepped up to be a big role of the Rockets season. He lead the NBA rookies in 3pt made and he passed my expectations. Stromile Swift was pretty much a dissapointment. He was supposed to be a big role of the Rockets, but didn't contribute a whole lot and was very inconsistent. He also didn't seem to have the work ethic. I'm pretty pleased to the pick up of Rafer Alston, who pretty much plays like a true point guard. The Rockets traded Mike James for Alston, even though James is having a great season in Toronto, he's more of a scoring guard, and I doubt, he would be having the success there here in Houston. So I'm pleased with the trade with Alston.

The one good thing that came out of this season was Yao. Yao Ming played some pretty dominant basketball after he returned from surger on the toe. After the playoffs Yao was averaging like 28 points and 11 rebounds. It would take double or even triple teams to get Yao out of the game, and it showed that Yao was playing to his potential. Unfortunately the Rockets perimeter shooting wasn't that great, so the offense wasn't able to take advantage of the double/triple teams effectively.

Hopefully the next year the Rockets can get deep into the playoffs and even maybe make the finals. But of course the Rockets would have to stay healthy, and probably pick up another free agent in the offseason. Also in my opinion I think it will take a new coach, because I don't think Jeff Van Gundy is a good coach, he's just like too defensive minded. Also I wouldn't mind seeing the Rocket picking up Peja Stojakovic or Bonzi Wells, who are supposed to be free agents after the season ends.

Picked up Battle for Middle Earth II; Other gaming news.

Well I just picked up LOTR: Battle for Middle Earth 2 for the PC...and it's a great game. I'm not really a big fan of Lord of the Rings...but I have watched all of the movies. And I really just bought this game because I played the demo and it was pretty sweet. It's the first real time strategy game I have bought...and I choose this game over Age of Empires 3.

Another game that might be going into my collection is MLB 06: the show...I was actually going to pick it up...but I didn't have enough money (in my wallet). I read some reviews from MLB 06 and I really wanted to play it...but I guess I was a little carried away. Because I usually wait for some of the sports games and compare them for my liking (unless Madden because I like it so much). I read the Gamespot review and the game barely had anything wrong with it (it got a 9 from GS). But I'm trying to wait until MLB 2k6 releases and make my choice on which MLB game to get.

I'm hoping to rent Black sometime soon. I played the demo at EB games and the game was pretty sweet.

Right now I'm playing the following games:
LOTR: The Battle for Middle-Earth II
NBA 2k6
Ace Combat 5

Games I'm trying to play:
Resident Evil 4 - I'm stuck :(
NBA 2k6 - Kinda getting boring; haven't played in like 3 weeks
Socom 3 - Kinda got boring/frustrating online (glitches/clan), now I have all this spyware, viruses, and trojens on my PC...so I got free trials of Norton Anti-Virus...so I can't get online as of right now.

Houston Rockets..

As most of you guys know...I'm a big NBA fan, and my favorite team is the Houston Rockets. They are finally getting a little healthier especially with Tracy McGrady and Yao Ming  back...I hope they win some games and get into the playoffs. Right now the Rockets are last in the West with a 17-29 record. But I believe they will come back (as long as T-Mac and Yao are playing) and get into the playoffs. I'm glad that Yao and T-Mac will be starting in the All-Star game...which will be fun to watch.
