The PSP game and PS2 games are very different....Socom is all about Online play anyways....it's was the most popular online game for the PS2 and has potential to be the most popular on the PS3. I think it's worth pay a extra $10 for a game you could potentially pour hours playing it.
The beta is not over, it ends tomorrow.
But yeah the patch really did mess everything up, I hope the game will be ok, and if it's not ok during the first week, I know they should fix things up eventually.
Don't know why no single player should be a factor in the review....single player usually take less then 10 hours to complete. Online is where your going to get most out of the game and spend most of your time.
Knowing gamespot they will give it a score under 8 for sure.
Yeah I never quite understood how the system works....more people are tracking Socom, yet the PS3 rank is #27.
160 people are tracking Mega Man 9 and the PS3 rank is #6.
Both.
Socom's not looking too promising right now since the beta still needs some work done. I've done Socom betas before to know enough that if this game is an Oct 14th release, we're pretty much playing the game right now minus a few maps. Socom 3's final release was pretty much a beta masking as a final release. There's only a little over a week left. I have a feeling we're "buying" the same thing, bugs and all.

You have to remember that the betas on the PS2 are totally different...the amount of stuff you could fix were very very limtied, the only major thing was working with the servers.
The PS3 has a harddrive so they can fix a lot of the problems. Look at what they have already fixed....it is quite impressive.
[QUOTE="ShoeSh1ne"]Well I look at it this way, I want the headset, so I'll just spend $10 more and get SOCOM with it.StealthKnifeit 20$ more for a mic, but i already got one!
He's talking about buying the mic by itself.
The mic alone costs $50, bundled with Socom it costs $60. Socom alone costs $40...
