I find that statement interesting considering that I have found this method nowhere else including some of the major sites for topics like this. anyway's the 360 is still doing fine the system has been decently cracked open. the WII can have pirated games played on it with just the use of a $5-10 SD card. system is currently the best selling system of them all and new super mario bros. has sold 10.5 million copies last I checked. piracy hasn't killed the easiest to pirate console, why would it kill the PS3 when we don't even know if a soft-mod will be available. homebrew is sweet, cracking open the system allows us to play emulated old games on our systems, the system has the power why should nintendo stop me from playing final fantasy 6 on my WII, I have the game legally bought for the SNES, why should I have to buy it again? charging fees to developers to put games on consoles is annoying, homebrew is nothing but good to a good society. We just want what we should already have, unrestricted access to the console that we legitimately paid for. when you go to a resturant you don't pay for a meal and get to only eat half of it. I didn't sign a single contract from sony saying that I was getting only half a system or that I couldn't develop games for it or that I could only play the games they wanted me to play. I paid for the console and want full access to it. if that is consider illegal than so be it, it might be illegal but it is right. If he were doing it for piracy purposes, he wouldn't have gone through all of the trouble of cracking the system for development. It's possible to play backup copies of games on a PS3 via use of the swap disc method which requires simple dissassembly of the BD-ROM drive.
Also, FYI, Sony dropped the Other OS feature starting with the Slim units.
