@Thanatos2k: You know something about the "app store" industry and that something is that it's okay for every other company except Microsoft to have an app store?
@Thanatos2k: If you think that the existence of the Apple App Store and the Google Play Store are about anything other than collecting easy revenue for Apple and Google than you're incredibly naïve.
@Thanatos2k: Apple doesn't need one for their phones either. Neither does Google. They have them so that they can make money off the operating systems they created. The same goes for Microsoft and Windows 10. They deserve to have a Store as well, just like their competitors do. The only difference between Apple's, Google's, and Microsoft's operating systems, though, is that Microsoft's is actually open: other people can launch competing stores. You can't have that on iOS or Android, so before you go criticizing Microsoft you should realize that they're the only one of the Big Three who should be praised, not criticized. The hypocrisy here is astounding.
@Thanatos2k: "and shouldn't have one"? What kind of stupid comment is that? It's okay for Steam, Apple, Google, and every body else to have a stupid store but Microsoft shouldn't have one? Nitwit Alert.
Microsoft's response was way too nice. They should've roasted him for how moronic his rant was. Hey Sweeney, you're about a decade late to the protest: Steam, iOS, and Android already exist and are all far more walled off than Windows. In fact, Windows is the only one that is open. You should be praising Microsoft.
@Thanatos2k: You have a myopic business view. Your lack of long-term vision would doom you. Microsoft rakes in $100 billion in revenue annually. They puny extra revenue they'd get from Steam is meaningless to them and not worth undermining their own platform for: the future potential revenue of a successful Windows 10 Store far exceeds anything Steam can do for them. Steam is their competitor.
