I happen to work at a large retailer in the US and they were giving out tickets to people who were waiting for the PS4 and Xbox one.

when i happened to stroll over before the event even started (event started at 6 i went over at 5) i asked how many PS4s they had left. they had sold out before the event even started the lady kindly said "none" they are all sold.

I was not expecting this so i kindly asked how many Xbox ones were already sold. She said none, Well i think 3 actually.

I dont know how many of each console they had by how many boxes they had i estimated at least 20 each.

The only reason i posted this is because its obvious that the PS4 is the more wanted console and here comes the standard MS IS DOOMEDDD. lol.

Anyone else have a similar experience last night. like go looking for a PS4 but it was sold out then find out they still had plenty of Xbox ones?

I went to the MS store in down town SLC Utah to return my Xbox One this evening and they had tons (50+ boxes) sitting next to the service desk. I asked the guy and he said they were not simply display models...they were the real deal. I was actually pretty shocked that they were not sold out. I've been checking around and can't find the PS4 anywhere. I've decided to hold off on getting either console until sometime next year to see how things pan out. It pains me to say, as I'm an Xbox guy, but I think the PS4 is going to dominate this gen. I think MS made many mistakes and compromised too much. I tried the Xbox One for a bit and was not impressed. I just could not justify keeping it, especially because of the price tag.

@ghostwarrior786: even I'd opened I could sell it at a profit? How much you think I could ask for it?

@lamprey263: I did play a game....killer instinct. It was an ok experience. I also played battlefield 4. It was a good looking game but the performance was not as good as I thought it be. The frame rate struugled at times.

As some of you know, I purchased the system but was on the fence on if I would actually open it and give it a try or return it. After finding out that the MS store has a 14 day return policy I decided to open it up and give it a spin. I'm sad to say that my greatest fears and concerns in regards to the system became apparent very quickly.

The system is enormous and not very attractive. The Kinect was bigger than I thought it would be and that long cord was a pian to deal with....the camera and cord just added to the clutter of my entertainment unit. The controller in pretty near perfect in my humble opinion.

The performance of the Kinect; voice commands, gestures.....and the multimedia features of the systems just are not ready for prime time. This system has potential but just feels sooooo rushed. This is the vibe that I got from doing research, but I thought that I'd atill give it a chance. It pains me to say but it has proven to be true....it just seems gimmicky and for 500 bucks, i dont ferl its worth it.This is coming from an xbox guy since the original came back out in the day. I simply do not understand some of the decisions MS decided on I making this machine. It just feels rushed....no other way to put it.

I've decided to return the system and hold off to see how things pan out. I will stick with my trusty 360 until I'm ready and the system is ready.

Any of you guys have similar experiences?

Fan boys, i guess the actual gaming experience is still better on X1 according to IGN. The resolution and frame rate may even out in the end but the online performance and qualities the X1 has over ps4 will likely remain.

While im sure the graphical gap will shrink over time as the SDK improves. Alot of the features just feel rushed and unfinished at this point. Im sure the ps4 is probably similar, as neither really has an impressive lineup.

I just bought one because i figured i was going to get one eventually when titanfall comes out. The multitasking and snap features are pretty cool but are fairly limited at the moment. The voice features are nice, and later on when there are alot more apps and games available will be pretty darn useful.. but right now when i barely have any apps and games its not much of a time saver.

As it stands the bone is pretty ho hum given the lack of available software but it has a solid foundation to build upon. If you are really that concerned you should probably wait a few months and let the system mature before making up your mind.

So, would you say that it was worth the purchase? Are the vibes I'm getting that the multimedia and Kinect features are gimmicky, correct? I have the box sitting right in front of me and I'm just getting this bad feeling/vibe about it. I guess the $500 price tag is not helping out the situation either. Do you think the PS4 would be the better option? If you had to do things over again, would you wait?

@Ghost120x:

I am right there with you. I will only buy one system and still can not decide what I want to get. I've been an Xbox guy since the original came out. The thought of moving over to Sony is not comforting. However, I may need to do so as the Xbox seems not as future proof or as powerful. I really do not know what MS was thinking when they designed this system. It just seems that the Kinect and all the multimedia features are gimmicky and will be an after thought after a few months...at least that is the vide that I'm getting.
