Not wanting to split the player base would not be in line with any of Activision's previous decisions. Activision's decisions are driven by: profit. Much more likely: they are releasing the single player, and later the multiplayer, as 2 separate entities. This way the campaign can fall in price while the multiplayer, which may need several dedicated servers (MW2 being identified by most as the best call of duty game), can remain at it's price point for likely some time. Many of the multiplayer players will have no interest in paying for the campaign (I know several personally), and will be more apt to buy it when priced for just the multiplayer, w/o additional content they have no interest in playing.
@nhwilber: Additional Noob kills: When I'm shooting through a hole I made and some idiot shoves their head right in front of my gun. I had that happen twice in one match and got kicked and match blocked for 10 min.
@nhwilber: Additional Noob kills: when I make a shot hole and they attempt to reinforce while I'm standing right there. Again - warning shot and prepare. 90% of the time, they shoot back. Sometimes they win, more times down they go.
@f1r3starter: Let me extrapolate: I remove the barrier. They begin to put it back up. I fire a warning shot and aim my shotgun at their head in preparation for retaliation. Sure enough - they shoot. Shame on them. Down goes Castle. You can't educate everyone.
NOPE. Unless your goal is to tick off the rest of your team. Need experienced players for Mute, Hibana, Thermite, Fuze (good ol' kill the hostage action), Castle (I've killed several Castle's for trapping the defense inside/ outside the objective), etc.
Good noob characters: Buck, Rook, Blackbeard, Capitao, . etc (any character where you don't really need to know the map) Your job is to back up the breach team (Thatcher/ Thermite, Ash) - and get your @r$$ into the objective when they rush in!
Until it's running at 60+ FPS, improving graphics is a mute point - because in almost every game - THINGS ARE MOVING! So it LOOKS blurry if you don't have a high frame rate anyways. Unless you want a still shot machine, improving the graphics is a waste of time. Personally I wouldn't touch graphics (assuming you're already at 1080p) until you're running 80+ FPS. For this reason: 4k on PS4 pro is a gimmick. Not sure about the Scorpio - that might actually have enough horse power to get you above 60 FPS AND improve the graphics on at least some modern games.
So my question is: when is gamespot (and other review sites) going to start re-reviewing games. The reality is, developers are drastically changing games post release, and you end up with a drastically different product 1-2 years later - see Destiny, Battlefield 4, R6 Siege, etc. Typically these changes are for the better, which is great, but it would be helpful to know that BF4 is a far cry (no pun intended) from the train wreck it was at launch, now being one of the best strategic shooters this generation. Same goes for R6Siege. Then you take a game like this, where it potentially gets worse once those reviews come out and the millions of copies are sold.
I just remember getting killed in Demon's in tight corridors b/c my slash attack hit the wall - which was not really an issue in any of the following games - you could just magically swing right through.
I never really dealt with world tendency. The only part I never figured out a fairly simple solution for was the dual gargoyles - hard as nails every play through. :)
Biggest difference between Demon's and DSI and II, was that your best bet for Demon's was a jack of all trades build IMO, as the "best solution" varied - magic, ranged, fire, sharp, blunt, etc. With DSI and II your best PVE build was "smashthar" (str build + jump smash attack) - hands down the best solution for essentially every situation (again - IMO). If you went with any other build, the solution was: summon Smashthar.
By the time we get to BB and DSIII, the best solution became: summon help, spam the "o" button, as it was too tedious to get to the boss and get killed 40 times trying to figure out when the .3 second stun windows were.
The writing was on the wall when the reviews for Demon's Souls came out and everyone was talking about how difficult it was. I think From Software ran with this and focused on PVP and making the series really hard, as opposed to focusing on interesting enemies and solution based PVE scenarios of Demon's Souls.
