Since you hear the noise in big action areas and don't hear it in loading screens ( where the drive spin the fastest ) i'm 90% sure it's the CPU or GPU overheating and the fan going crazy ( the one in the inside not in the back ) try and download a demanding ( graphically ) game demo and see if you can still hear the noisesMetal-8654

Hi!

My beloved ps3 fat is making some noises. I've tried to identify the source and found out that it was the disc drive, since ps1 games and castle crashers were both fine.

Going on with the task, I also found out that the noises only happen in big actions scenes, like in MW2, for instance. It runs smoothly in loading and non-action stuff, but when I start shooting and running, the niose begins.

It's not constant, but intermittent and will cease if actions stops.

Is that normal?

Should I worry?

Disc drive failure?

I liked cod mw2 so much :/ Blops sucks in multiplayer, nothing compared to mw2.

Dman I'm really pissed right now, hope this is not what I'm thinking...

Just left a cod mw2 match cause a guy with a green aura was jumping sky high and shooting everyone with an unkown weapon. All players in the map could jump high as well.

Ocasionally some debug commands would appear in the screen, and it seemed like the guy was selecting the options at will. There was "auto-aim", invencibility, and lots of other freaking stuff.

Wtf? I didnt think it was possible to hack a ps3 online game that much. Is that old or it is because of that damn jailbreak spread?

My best game just got ruined :/

Hi guys. I know that this subject has probably gone over and over around here but still...

So i need to know, nowadays, which one is better to play ps3 games. Not only talking about resolution but the whole TV.

I also have some doubts about that 1080p ps3 can reach, i mean, both plasma and LCD can provide that resolution?
