I want my 94 minutes back...

OK, I am a sucker for movies that are based on games...especially games that I've played, and generally I can find at least one good thing to say about them. Mario Brothers was very campy, but it was fun. Doom had the Rock, Street Fighter had some cool fight scenes and so on. But, I can officially say that I have found a movie that was based on a game that has NOTHING going for it, and I am completely ticked off that I wasted 94 minutes of my life watching.....Bloodrayne. Everything about it absolutely stunk, and I was really expecting more since it had Michael Madsen in it. It was just the worst movie I think I've ever seen. Complete and utter garbage doesn't even begin to describe this movie. Well, I feel better now that I've gotten that rant out of my system, so back to the grind! P.S. On a brighter side, I also just finished watching Underworld Evolution. This was much better than Bloodrayne (of course, watching the wall would have been better than Bloodrayne) Underworld has some cool effects, and a pretty interesting plot.

The Duke Spirit, Augustana, and SNOW PATROL!!!!!!

Thursday, May 25th @ the Granada Theater in Dallas Texas was definately a night to remember! I drove over 4 1/2 hours to get there and waited outside in 98+ heat for 2 more hours just to see these guys from Ireland/Scotland. Boy, was it worth every miserable minute!!!! This was probably the BEST concert I've ever attended! Opening at 8pm was a band from the UK called The Duke Spirit (the lead singer definitely has a Janis Joplin vibe to her) and they rocked....so much in fact that I ended up buying their cd after the show. If you haven't heard of them, www.dukespirit.com check it out. Next up was a US band called Augustana (they have one song that gets played called "Boston" I think)....once again I wasn't dissappointed and ended up with yet another new cd to add to my collection (www.augustanamusic.com) Even though both opening bands were great....I was ready for Snow Patrol. This was my second time to see the guys perform in the States (Last May @ the House of Blues in New Orleans with Athlete was a wicked night!) Gary Lightbody and crew tore the flippin' walls down!!! We were in the pit, and the long wait was worth it since we ended up at the front, center stage! The new tracks they performed from "Eyes Open" were awesome, as well as the old "Final Straw" takes. Not only was the concert flippin' brilliant, we got to meet all 3 bands after the show (and I got my pic taken with Gary Lightbody!!! I can die a happy woman now!) Anyway....back to the grind!
