Hey all
nikkycat's forum posts
Me agaisnt the guy you play as in Black Ops.
He would destroy me XD
[QUOTE="nikkycat"]if you want do any gaming on it, forget it. there are VERY few choices for gaming on macs. plus pc's are much better for the price anywaysOk guys, so I'm in the market for a new computer.
I'm going to eventually go back to school. I finished my two year associates degree, but i'm on a break right now so i can work/decide what to do major in for my next degree. I'm thinking about doing school online when i go back, so I dont need a portable. So i'm leaning towards a desktop. But, a Macbook Pro would be nice to bring with me anyway :P
What would you guys recommend? Go for a desktop, such as an iMac, or a portable like a Macbook pro?
Someone told me i should get an iMac and an iPad, idk about that though.

Gaming is slowly improving with the Mac. Honestly i'm not much of a computer gamer, but the few games i'd want too play ( Valve games, Civilization ) do work on the Mac nativly ( but Mac OS X has Bootcamp, which allows you to natively install Windows, so i coudl play any PC game technially if i really wanted too :P )
But also i just like the Mac overall experience. It's expensive, but the software takes advantage of the hardware, adn vice versa. Its just a smooth experience, plus i really like OS X :P
I generally like desktops myself, if i'm home i dont wanna use a laptop lol. So i'm leaning towards an iMac.

Yeah I've seen some people complain about the frame rate.. I haven't noticed any slow downs, but I don't really notice most graphical blemishes... I can't believe the game is only 544P on PS3 tho... MethodManFTW
This is the problem I have: Its Not HD as you pointed out, AND theres frame rate issues? When the 360 can have graphics like Gears, alan wake, Halo Reach and the PS3 can do things like GoWIII, Uncharted 2, and Killzone with INSANE graphics, 30 FPS smooth and 32 people online. But COD can't run smooth even when its NOT HD?
[QUOTE="nikkycat"]I find Black Ops to be the best overall online COD in quite a long while. With that said, can't wait for SOCOM or Killzone :PMethodManFTWyeah im hoping CoD: BO can satisfy my online shooter needs until feb 22.
I really hope they can optimize code/patch an install to help the framerate.
Fallout 3/New Vegas and InFamous. Just couldn't get into them.
